Year 11, 13 and 14 Art students recently visited Down Arts Centre to visit the exhibition of ceramics by local artist Aine McKenna. The exhibition showcases the unique work using porcelain paper clay, glaze, decal and gold lustre. The artist has travelled extensively practicing her art in the USA and England. Aine McKenna, current artist in residence in DAC, spoke to the pupils about her sources of inspiration and techniques. Many thanks to Denise Griffiths from DAC and Aine McKenna who welcomed us to the Arts Centre and introduced the work to the pupils who all thoroughly enjoyed their visit.
