Geography Fieldtrip

Year 12 Geography students enjoyed a day measuring how the River Shimna changed from its source in the upper course of the river to the middle course in Tollymore forest.    

We began the day on the Ott Mountain up in the Mourne Mountains,  where we measured the rivers width, depth, and velocity. 

We were able to see the Geography we had studied in school in real life.

We returned home exhausted, muddy and with a greater appreciation of the beauty of the countryside around us.
