Students from St Mary’s High School attended a service organised by the Rev. Adrian Dorrian in St Margaret’s Church, Downpatrick on Thursday 1st February.
The service marked 1500 years since the death of Brigid, who is one of Ireland’s three patrons and our only female patron saint.
The service was dominated by female voices and included bible readings, worship music, secular music and poetry.
“In Down, three saints one grave do fill, Patrick, Brigid and Columcille.”
