Year 10 Entrepreneurial Skills Quick Start Programme:

13th Mar 2023

During the months of November and December our Year 10 budding entrepreneurs, took inspiration from the theme of “Christmas” to design and produce exciting and innovative products as part of their Year 10 Young Enterprise NI Quick Start, Entrepreneurial Skills programme.  10LC, 10ES and 10LM pupils truly excelled in their business ventures, producing and selling a wide variety of products including hot chocolate cones, Santa Sweet Cones, baked goods, Christmas decorations and mystery boxes.  Together they successfully raised a total of £800 for their chosen charities.  The pupils kindly donated their earnings to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul (SVP), Downpatrick Presbyterian Fountain Foodbank, NI Cancer Research and Down Right Incredible.  This enterprise activity provided our pupils with the opportunity to demonstrate and explore a variety of cross curricular skills.  The pupils thoroughly enjoyed this experience and were highly commended for their creative endeavours which involved creating a product, devising a business name and designing a business logo.  Mrs Gorman, Ms Lennon and Miss Murray would like to congratulate both classes in relation to their hard work fundraising for such worthwhile charities.  Well done to all involved!

The names of the reps for the charities this morning are as follows:

Brenda Gribben – Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Downpatrick

Shirley Lennon - Downpatrick Presbyterian Fountain Foodbank, Downpatrick

Shirley Wadsworth & Nichola McSherry – Down Right Incredible, Saintfield
